David A. Minnis, age 57, of Oswego, passed away Monday, February 5, 2018 at his home.

He was born August 5, 1960 in Aurora, IL, the son of James and Helen Minnis. On April 30, 1984, he was united in marriage to Norma Lechuga and spent the next 34 years together. Dave's passion was for his 5 grandkids. He was an extremely dedicated and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His life was his grandkids and family. His family was his greatest accomplishment. Dave touched many lives in his lifetime.

He is survived by his wife, Norma. His daughters, Jenny Minnis, Vanessa Minnis; and his 5 grandkids.

Mike Kirk

Michael (Mike) Earl Kirk, 55, of Montgomery, IL passed away on Wednesday, April 20 surrounded by his loved ones in his home after a long fought battle with cancer. He was born in Evansville, IN to August and Sondra Kirk on September 29, 1960. Moving to Oswego, IL in 1963, he was a proud Oswego High School Panther, Class of 1978. His mathematical genius sent him to Northern Illinois University, where he graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. He later secured an MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management that was used when he worked at Prudential, AmeriHost Inn, and finally A Safe Haven. He spent the last 17 years of his career with A Safe Haven, a community social service provider that focused on serving recovering addicts, veterans, and the homeless, finishing as their Chief Financial Officer. His compassion for others knew no bounds. Besides having a passion for numbers, he also loved Rock 'n' Roll, BBQ ribs, and his beloved sports teams, including the White Sox, Blackhawks, Bulls, Los Angeles Raiders, and the NIU Huskies. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Lisa (Westfall); his daughter Angela (Justin) Gerber of Bartlesville, OK; and his parents, Sondra and August Kirk of Montgomery, IL. Mike was a loving Papaw to his two curly redheaded grandchildren, Emersyn Ruth and Jackson Gerber. His supportive army of in-laws included the Westfalls of Sandwich, IL, the Gormans of Plano, IL, the Cobbs of Oswego, IL, the Fletchers of Porter, TX, the Witalkas of Marseilles, IL, and the Gormans of Cleveland, OH. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Thomas and Ada Kirk and his maternal grandparents, Clyde and Delma Meeks. A celebration of life visitation service will be held at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway, Montgomery, IL, on Sunday, April 24th from 12 to 4 p.m. Guests are asked to wear red, white, or black to represent Mikey's favorite sports teams. Melinda G. Pichardo, 47, of Naperville, passed away suddenly

Tuesday, May 20, 2008, at her home. She was born May 21, 1960 in Aurora, IL, the daughter of Moritz and Joyce (Greenberg) Horton, Sr. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and a faithful friend who will be dearly missed by all that knew her.

She is survived by her husband, Rafael Pichardo; her mother, Joyce Horton of Bakersfield, CA; her sons, Robert (Andrea) Stotler, Sr. of Montgomery and Adam Stotler of Las Vegas; her daughters, Lupe Pichardo of Joliet and JoAnna Sartor of Iowa; her grandchildren, Robert Stotler, Jr., Emily and Tyler Whitlatch and two grandchildren on the way; her siblings Morrie Horton of Henderson, NV, Mark (Nancy) Horton of Aurora, and Melanie (Butch Lathem) Glover of North Aurora; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Visitation will be held Saturday, May 24, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service starting at 12:00 p.m. at Dieterle Memorial Home 1120 S Broadway, Montgomery, IL 60538. Interment will follow at Lincoln Memorial Park, Aurora, IL. DIETERLE MEMORIAL HOME (630) 897-1196
